Your Handbook for Best Gifting Practices—Beyond the Holidays

We get it, picking out gifts can be very tricky. No one person is the same, nor is there such a thing as a gift guide that works for everyone - especially if you have to pick out gifts for people who already own everything or that you just don't know that well.

And although there is no gift guide that is one size fits all
, there is a particular art to giving a good gift.

In this small guide, we try to guide you through some gift ideas that could potentially work for anyone who you have to pick out a gift for. We also give you some food for thought when it comes to the philosophy of gifting.

Okay, so what are good gifting practices?

When choosing a gift, we believe quality and thoughtfulness should always come first. A gift is personal by nature - what you give often says more about you than about the person receiving it. So don’t rush it. It’s always better to give something considered, something you’re genuinely happy to share, even if it’s not something the recipient would have picked for themselves.

Here are a few guidelines to keep in mind when choosing a good gift:

  • Quality over quantity

  • Give something personal - something you’d genuinely be happy to receive. How well you know someone should influence your choice, but not too heavily. If everything you give is rooted in your own good taste and intention, you can’t go far wrong. (Even gifting someone your favorite tea and telling them why you love it so much is already a meaningful gesture.)

  • It’s always safe to give something useful, high quality, or something they can “use up” (coffee, olive oil - yes, even the classic socks).

  • And remember: the person receiving your gift will be the one living with it. Most of us already own too much stuff, so think of it this way - they’ll be the one taking care of it.

Gifts that are a perfect match, Classic, Practical & Stylish Pairings

Some gifts are great on their own, but pair the right two together and suddenly they tell a story. Thoughtful combinations feel intentional, personal, and instantly more fun to unwrap. Below are some of our favorite gift duos that make an impression… and yes, a few of them you can even score with us.

(Rugged, heritage-style pairing.)

Hat + Hat-Holder

(Perfect for hat lovers who never want to leave their prized possession behind. And yes, this Hat-Holder is indeed also a keyring, just swap the parts.)

Experience focused gifts, based on personality

  • For the foodie:
A cooking class (let them pick the date), a mixology workshop, a tasting event, a restaurant voucher, meal delivery credit — or take them out for dinner yourself ;)

  • For the music lover:
Concert tickets or a gift card to a local music hall.

  • For the cultured one:
Museum tickets or membership, or entry to a seminar or talk.

  • For the workaholic or someone who needs TLC:
A spa or massage voucher, a home spa set, or even a pedicure or manicure.

  • For the nature lover:
Tickets to a botanical garden, nature reserve, or national park.

  • For the studious or science-curious:
Tickets to an observatory, planetarium, or science museum, or a subscription to a learning platform like MasterClass.

Good gifts last, get used, or leave a good memory. If you keep that in mind, you really can’t mess it up. We hope this guide gives you a few solid ideas — and maybe even makes the whole gifting season feel a little less stressful, and a little more fun.
